McLaughlin & Buie Housewrights is a full service Design/Build Contractor. We specialize in additions and renovations to older houses and new residential construction. By listening to and collaborating with our clients, we create designs that fulfill their needs, and for additions/alterations complement the design of the existing house. Our experience in renovating older houses allows us to plan for the complexities that arise during renovation. Our commitment to good communication helps our clients understand the process, and deal with complications quickly to keep the project on schedule.
Dan started McLaughlin Housewrights in 1992 on Block Island, focusing on renovations to many of the island's older homes. In 1995 he moved to Providence and continued renovating and restoring historic houses. In 1998 Glenn hired his neighbor Dan to renovate his 1860’s Victorian house in Providence's Armory District. Soon after, Glenn came to work with the Housewrights as a designer, project manager and carpenter. In 2007 they became partners and the company name changed to McLaughlin & Buie Housewrights.
Dan is a 1989 graduate in History from Millsap's College in Jackson Mississippi and a 1991 graduate in Preservation Carpentry from the North Bennett Street School in Boston. He lives in East Greenwich. Glenn is a 1989 graduate in Architecture from Clemson University in South Carolina. He lives in Providence.
